Energy Solutions Case Study – East End Foods
East End Foods is a leading supplier in the UK Indian food market and is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. The company has invested heavily in measures to monitor and subsequently reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
ADAS has been working with East End Foods to identify significant energy savings that can be realised through either minimal or no capital cost outlay.
Following an energy mapping and sub-metering programme, ADAS has assisted East End Foods in implementing energy efficiency measures including:
• Improved refrigeration - saving £5,500 per year
• Improved operational management of smaller equipment - saving £2,700 per year
• Equipment being shut down during non-productive periods - saving £665 per year
Other opportunities currently being considered include:
• Regular servicing of compressors could result in a further £12,700 saving per year
• Improved management of the Variable Speed motors could save £826 per year
The recommendations by ADAS will be used by East End Foods to establish a baseline of energy consumption and marks the start of a programme of continuous improvement which will result in energy reduction and cost savings and reduce their environmental footprint.
