An opportunity for academics and industry to demonstrate techniques and technologies used to measure agricultural GHG emissions.
ADAS is organising a Defra funded workshop on the 31st October 2011 at the University of Reading Centre for Dairy Research as part of the UK’s contribution to the Global Research Alliance (GRA). The workshop will include parallel presentation sessions in the morning and an afternoon session on equipment demonstrations with an introduction by Jim Paice, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food.
The workshop provides an opportunity for academics and industry to demonstrate techniques and technologies used to measure agricultural GHGs, focussing particularly on methane and nitrous oxide. It will allow delegates from around the world to learn about and view measurement technologies in use to understand their application and limitations.
Launched in December 2009, the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) aims to increase international cooperation to reduce emissions from agricultural systems and increase soil carbon sequestration. The GRA now has over 30 member countries from all over the world and is split into three main working groups: livestock, crops and paddy rice.
