Time's running out! Do you qualify for the Carbon Reduction Commitment?

More than two-thirds of businesses in the UK are unaware of the imminent Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation, a leading insurance and energy management firm has revealed.
This could see more than 5,000 businesses having to deal with rises of at least £55,000 in energy costs from next year, through companies having to offset carbon emissions through buying allowances for every tonne of CO2 they emit.

Glyn Jones, ADAS Carbon Trading Consultant: “Carbon emissions are now coming with a price. Mandatory schemes to reduce GHGs such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) create the need to consider the most cost effective means of reducing carbon emissions. Private and public organisations will need to register for the CRC, provide baseline and ongoing footprint data. In addition, companies will need to consider the cost of carbon and the number of permits they require to purchase to cover their emissions.”

Are you facing rising energy and water costs?

ADAS Resource Efficiency Consultants identify significant energy saving opportunities for food and drink businesses and save over 10% in energy costs.

Would 10% savings in the cost of energy and in water make a real difference to your business? Of course it would. Then why are so many food and drink businesses failing to capitalise on the opportunities to improve the bottom line through the efficient use of resources? What’s stopping them - know how, capital investment, or inertia ‘we’ve always done it that way’?

It may be either one or a combination of these factors, but the message that ADAS delivers is that businesses can achieve substantial savings through quick efficiency gains in a short period of time with only limited or modest investment. ADAS Resource Efficiency experts can assess the quick efficiency wins to reduce energy and other resource costs, saving costs and also bringing environmental benefits.

Jag Singh, ADAS Resource Efficiency Consultant: “I have found efficiency savings on energy for clients, typically achieving annual savings of 10% plus. In the light of rising energy prices these savings make a significant difference to the bottom-line of any business. In one case it saved the business £40,000 per annum.”

ADAS provides a one stop shop for advice on compliance with the Carbon Reduction Commitment and resource efficiency delivering practical and cost saving solutions.
